Hasta Nunca

Although I'm not much of a painter, I am set to learn... so here's my second ever painting I kinda feel like it's not absolute crap.

I did start just throwing colors and custom brushes on a background until I saw something in it, then started adding stuff from there. As I am used to manipulations, I must say it is very refreshing to work without any constraints of that kind, I didn't need to find the right stock for my idea, cause I neither had an idea beforehand, nor used any stock, although I did throw in a couple of textures from my own pics. I was certainly happy with the time it took as well (about 4 and a half hours), which is way less than I'd spend with the most simple manip...


As for the image itself, it sure slowly found a meaning as it progressed. I had quite a stressful week, somewhat sad, and the image certainly captured that. It speaks of that time in life when you know something is over and you've got to move on. It is something different for each of us, it doesn't matter what, just that we know it is time to leave that behind and find a new adventure to be part of.


Comments and criticism are much appreciated, as I am very new to digital painting and definitely aware that there is much room for improvement!
